New Era at Aksa Power Generation

The leading brand in the generator sector, Aksa Power Generation, has restructured its management in line with evolving market trends. In the new executive committee–centered structure, Rıdvan Özer was appointed as the General Manager of Sales and Marketing, and Nazmi Atalay was appointed as the General Manager of Operations. Operating in 170 countries from America to Asia and from Africa to Oceania, and with production facilities in Türkiye, China, and the USA, Aksa Power Generation, one of the world's five largest generator manufacturers, has implemented this new management structure to contribute to its global brand image in line with its growth plans.
With this new structure, Rıdvan Özer was appointed as the General Manager of Sales and Marketing, Nazmi Atalay was assigned as the General Manager responsible for Global Production and Service Organization, and CFO Şevket Hakan Özgüler was directly connected to the Executive Committee. With this renewed structure, all business units of Aksa Power Generation will continue their efforts toward becoming a global brand without slowing down.
Rıdvan Özer, appointed as the General Manager of Sales and Marketing at Aksa Power Generation, graduated from Yıldız Technical University with a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He started his career in the generator sector in 1997 at Borusan Power Systems Caterpillar. Özer completed Leadership and Sales faculties at Borusan Academy, conducted in cooperation with Sabancı University, and also holds a Six Sigma Black Belt certification. After 15 years in various roles, including sales management at Borusan Power Systems Caterpillar, he established Aggreko's Türkiye operations, one of the world’s leading energy rental companies, and later served as general manager in various countries for seven years.
Nazmi Atalay, appointed as General Manager of Operations, graduated from Yıldız Technical University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and completed the Business Specialization Program at Istanbul University’s Faculty of Business Administration in 1990. Atalay then began his career, holding positions at Aksa Power Generation in domestic and international locations as sales engineer, regional manager, general manager, board member, and deputy head of sales and marketing.
Şevket Hakan Özgüler, serving as CFO and Deputy Head of Financial Affairs at Aksa Power Generation since 2014, graduated from Saint-Michel French High School and Istanbul University’s Economics Department. After a 13-year banking career, he joined Aksa Power Generation, completing Koç University’s Executive MBA program during his banking career, and has held management positions in the real sector for 12 years.
Necati Baykal, Chairman of Aksa Power Generation, stated that the company aims to strengthen its position among the top five manufacturers globally and targets being among the top three by 2025. He emphasized that the new management structure has been implemented within the scope of growth strategies. Baykal explained: “Our management approach is to grow steadily by strengthening our ability to approach customer-oriented and innovative strategies from different perspectives, reinforcing our strong global position. With a more visionary perspective in our new structure, we will advance confidently toward becoming a more active and innovative brand in global markets. Particularly in the Asia-Pacific markets, Africa, the Americas, and countries like India, we will continue to establish new investments and partnerships, consolidating our position among the top five manufacturers in the global generator market. With our new and dynamic management structure, we will continue stable growth in the coming period.”
Baykal also mentioned their acceptance into the Turquality program: “With the Turquality stamp, we will take a step that contributes to our prestige in global markets.”
Aksa Power Generation has three production facilities in Türkiye, China, and the USA. Serving with 19 offices and 4 representative offices across Asia, Europe, Africa, and America, the company earned 65% of its revenue from international sales in 2019. In addition to supplying a 90 MW generator for the IGA project in Türkiye, Aksa Power Generation participated in major international projects such as the Kotoka Airport in Ghana and the Ashgabat Olympic Complex. Most recently, the company provided energy support for a 10 MW power plant project in the tourism paradise of Oceania, the Republic of Vanuatu. Through R&D investments, Aksa Power Generation develops innovative products that respond to the needs of different markets and sectors, producing the first generator that takes over the system in just 8 seconds.
