Through these efforts, Aksa has developed the CBE (Close Before Excitation) technology, enabling generators to start operating within 8 seconds during power outages. This new technology by Aksa also ensures uninterrupted power at Istanbul Airport.

Most recently, the company reduced generator start-up time during outages from 15 seconds to 8 seconds with its newly developed CBE (Close Before Excitation) technology.

The CBE product by Aksa Power Generation is of vital importance, particularly for hospitals, where operating rooms, intensive care units, and radiology departments cannot tolerate interruptions longer than 10 seconds. Beyond hospitals, the technology is also targeted for use in airports, the iron and steel industry, data centers, and shopping malls—sectors where energy interruptions can pose serious risks. At Istanbul Airport, Aksa Power Generation is already using its CBE technology to ensure uninterrupted energy.

Within the scope of our R&D activities, we managed—for the first time in the world—to reduce generator start-up time from 15 seconds to 8 seconds.

We have also reached the point of integrating this technology not only into single products but also into projects where multiple generator groups are synchronized to feed the load. For example, under normal circumstances, it takes approximately 30–40 seconds for 10 synchronized generators to become parallel and supply the load. However, with the CBE technology, we can now offer our customers solutions that reduce this time to as little as 8–10 seconds.”
